Z-Communications Announces New SPDT Switch from 9 kHz to 30 GHz

Z-Communications Inc. has announced the RFSW30, a new general-purpose single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switch. The RFSW30 features a low insertion loss of 3 dB over the entire frequency range of 9 kHz to 30 GHz, and a high input linearity of 1 dB power compression (P1dB) of 28 dBm. The RFWS30 is part of Z-COMM’s new product line of connectorized modules for lab bench and prototyping applications, varying from test and measurement, radar, ECMs, VSAT, and potential OEM partnerships.

The RFSW30 single-pole, double throw (SPDT) switch is a new addition to ZCOMM’s product line in the RF frequency chain and compliments the company’s existing frequency sources such as the SSG22645LX wideband frequency synthesizer (45 MHz to 22 GHz), the AWB0022M wide band amplifier (DC to 22 GHz), and the standard VCO and PLL product offerings. With these products, the user will have the ability to generate frequencies over a very wide range and drive other devices along the RF analog chain.

The RFSW30 non-reflective 50 Ω design provides a high isolation of 60 dB up to 30 GHz. The unit can handle a high-power input of up to 24 dBm at the in-through path and terminated path. The switch is bidirectional; the RF input signal can be applied to the RFC port while the RF throw port (RF1 or RF2) is the output, or vice versa.

The RFSW30 is powered by a single +5V power source and it’s housed in a compact enclosure with dimensions of 2 in. (50.8 mm) L x 1.4 in. (35.6 mm) W x 0.46 in. (11.7 mm) H.

Z-Communications Introduces New Low Noise Amplifier from DC to 22 GHz

Z-Communications Inc. has announced the AWB0022M, a Wideband Low Noise Amplifier spanning frequencies from DC to 22 GHz. The AWB0022M is a new product line introduction to the Low Noise Amplifier space for applications varying from test and measurement, lab bench and prototyping, to potential OEMs.

The AWB0022M low noise amplifier is a continuation of ZCOMM’s product line in the RF frequency chain and compliments the company’s existing frequency sources such as the SSG22645LX wideband frequency synthesizer (45 MHz to 22 GHz). With these two products engineers can quickly and easily generate frequencies and amplification over a very wide range with the ability to drive other devices up along the RF analog chain.

The AWB0022M is a stand-alone connectorized, low-noise, wide-band amplifier that will perform with any lab frequency source while accepting a maximum input power of +15 dBm. The AWB0022M, when paired with the Z-COMM SSG22645LX frequency source will produce a typical power output of 15 to 20 dBm across the 45 MHz – 22 GHz range.

ZCOMM:4.55 GHz CRO VCO with Exceptional Phase Noise in MINI Package

The new CRO4550X2-LF utilizes a doubled CRO oscillator design to cover the operating frequency of 4550 MHz within a tuning window of 0.5-4.5 Vdc. This new ceramic resonator VCO features incredible phase noise of -110 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset and is available in Z-COMM’s standard MINI-16-SM package measuring 0.5 in. x 0.5 in. x 0.22 in.  

The CRO4550X2-LF is well suited for satellite communication systems requiring optimal spectral purity. This unmatched VCO is configured to deliver a nominal output power of 3.5 dBm into a 50 ohm load and covers the operating frequency with a low Kvco figure of 8 MHz/V all while operating over the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85°C.  It is specified to run off a 5.0 Vdc supply while drawing only 30 mA of current. The CRO4550X2-LF suppresses both the ½ and 2nd harmonic to better than -20dBc while limiting pulling to less than 1 MHz. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements.

ZCOMM:High Performance Fixed Frequency PLO at 9.25 GHz

Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant fixed frequency phase locked loop model SFS9250C-LF operating in the X-band. The SFS9250C-LF is a simple to use plug and play PLO allowing for quick integration.  It is designed to produce a fixed signal at 9250 MHz while locked to an external 10 MHz reference oscillator.  This remarkable PLO features exceptionally low phase noise of -75dBc/Hz, -92dBc/Hz, and -118dBc/Hz at the 1kHz, 10kHz and 100kHz offsets, respectively.

The SFS9250C-LF is designed to deliver an output power of -3 dBm into a 50 ohm load while operating off a VCO voltage supply of 5Vdc and drawing 90mA and a phase locked loop voltage of 3Vdc while drawing 11mA.  This unmatched product features a typical harmonic suppression of -30dBc and spurious suppression of -70dBc.  It is housed in Z-COMM’s standard SFS-L1 package measuring 1.0 in. x 1.0 in. x 0.22 in.  The SFS9250C-LF is also ideal for automated surface mount assembly and is available in tape and reel packaging.
